OUR PATRON SAINT!

LEONARD 'STONEY' ST.CLAIR (1912-1980)

Stoney Profile.JPG

Stoney was an American tattooist who travelled the USA with the circus, originally as a sword swallower and latterly as a tattoo artist, all the while confined to a wheelchair due to rheumatoid arthritis which he contracted at the age of four.

With his indomitable spirit, good humour and  self confessed 'love of mankind', Stoney forged a rewarding life for himself through tattooing on the road with the circus for many years before settling in Columbus, Ohio where he tattooed until his death in 1980.
